Linear Stone Bib Necklace – Robert Rose via Little Black Bag
Light Brown Button Down – JCrew via The Wise Penny
Red Wool Pleated Skirt – Henri Bendel via The Wise Penny
Grey Tights – Unknown Brand via DSW
Grey Tonic Wedge – Rocket Dog via DSW
What do you guys think of this statement and neutral color blocking look? I love the pop of red with the black, grey, and brown! Some people don’t think you should ever mix black and brown but I think sometimes it can really work, and I think it works here. And, who doesn’t love a classic pleated skirt right? I got so many compliments for this red one at work! What do you think? Comment below and let me know.
1. Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips
I have used these before (hasn’t everyone?) and they are good. The Boscia Black Pore Strips are much better, but as a cheaper drug store product, these Biore ones are pretty fabulous. I especially love that they have a rewards system now! You know me and my rewards systems 😉
2. Dove Clear Tone Skin Renew Deodorant
I got this as a free sample from Walmart.com I believe. It worked fine, but I didn’t think it was particularly special or anything. I don’t think that is changed the tone of my underarms either, but I also don’t have much of an underarm darkness problem anyway. Probably wouldn’t buy the full size if only because I’d rather buy a deodorant with a funner smell.
3. Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre
I have seen gurus talk about this moisturizer before and it seems to be a common thing to pick up on one’s travels to Paris, etc. I was so excited that this was in my January Birchbox! I thought it was great. It really does moisturize quite well while sinking in immediately with no greasy residue! I also love that the tube is metal which makes it easier to squeeze every last drop out. But at $28 I am hesitating to buy the full size since I want to try out expensive serums soon and would like to keep my moisturizer cheap into to compensate, haha.
4. Sugar Lip Treatment Spf 15 Mini
This was 2012 Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday gift along with a red tinted mini tube. It was awesome to finally get to try this balm out for free because I have heard good things about it but it’s 20+ price tag always scared me away. After trying the balm, I am so glad I never bought the full size because it would make me so made that something so pricey would be so melty and messy! It moisturized nicely, but the balm kept melting and I had to be ultra careful when advancing the tube up. Talk about annoying! The sugary/lemon scent is really nice though. Guess we’ll see if the red tinted one has the same melting problem, I reckon it does, sadly.
5. Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream Deluxe Sample
I got this with my Sephora points one time thinking it was the VitaZing face product. Oops, not the same! I was kinda bummed it was the GinZing eye cream because I wanted to try VitaZing so bad, but it’s always nice to have an eye cream and deluxe samples of them seem to last for ever. This one was ok, but I felt it made my eyes a little sensitve and I didn’t notice any brightening effect. Wouldn’t buy full size or get the deluxe sample again.
6. Bath and Body Works Anti-Bacterial Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer in Japanese Cherry Blossom
My last of my set of 3 moisturizing hand sanitizers! This one was just like the others: nice drying but not ultra moisturizing in any way and didn’t eliminate my need to follow up with a hand cream. The smell was nice and strong though, but I think I still like the White Citrus scent the best. Buy again? Maybe, but probably not.
7. Sensodyne Toothpaste Mini
A staple in my dental routine, and great for sensitive teeth. I definitely recommend! I love the ProNamel formula the best and already have another full size of that.
8. Yes to Carrots Lip Butter in Sweet Fig
This has a lovely scent but it melted once and was never the same again. It turned into this mushy gloopy yucky lip balm that was the bane of my existence! I am glad I got this one for free with a purchase because I won’t be buying it!
9. & 10. & 11. L’Occitane Ultra Rich Body Cream Sample x 3
I really liked this body cream. L’Occitane never disappoints and with 3 packets I was able to cover my body completely twice! Score! If it wasn’t so expensive I would consider buying the full size but I feel like I can get the sample effect from other thick moisturizers. Has a nice mild scent though which is great so your perfume doesn’t have to compete.
12. & 13. & 14. Some products I am getting rid of because they are ancient and it can’t be healthy to use them
-CoverGirl Lipstick in Classic Red
-Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Bourbon
-Smashbox Limitless Eye Liner in Onyx
15. Product I am getting rid of because I hate it and won’t force myself to use it because it makes my face bright red and dry and grossly flaky
-SkinEffects by Dr. Jeffrey Dover Glycolic Cream Cleanser
