If you remember, I bought the L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream on an inspired whim because I was in a pinch and needed makeup. I had heard one of my favorite Youtubers Carly Cristman rave about it so I used the opportunity to try something new! Well, now I’ve had it for a while so I thought I’d let you all know what I think about it!
When you first look at the product it looks white. Scary, right? But, as you can see in the widest third swatch, after you rub it in a bit, it takes on some color, and looks quite natural.
Looking at my before and after picture you can see that it gives a light, slightly build-able coverage that blurs out your imperfections. What you might not be able to see, is that it almost feels like, and gives the effect of a primer! While I haven’t layered this with a foundation on top because when I reach for the L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream, I am looking for an easy and light coverage anyway, I can see it working well for those who are looking for that! I also found that it didn’t feel drying. It claims to be hydrating, but I think of it more of a hydration maintainer because it kind of holds in the moisturizer I put on before using this. While this aspect might not be what people think they are looking for, I quite prefer it because often times BB Creams and Foundations that are truly moisturizer tend to leave one looking greasy (Ahem, looking at your Garnier BB Cream), something that this BB Cream doesn’t do! A fabulous thing in my book if you ask me1
While I have sampled a few BB Creams in my time, I can not really speak to the strengths of the long term effects of this product, but it seems to deliver the “primes, perfects, hydrates, corrects” claim on the bottle.
What about you guys? Do you have a favorite BB Cream? Have you tried this one? Comment below and let me know.

April 13, 2013 at 11:35 PMYay, a BB Cream review! I’m interested in this one, mostly because it seems to really even out your skin and is affordable for an adventure. I like affordable experimentation.

April 17, 2013 at 7:14 PMYay! Glad you saw the post, I thought of you while I was writing it! I love this one because it has the feel of a primer, which I quite like (after having experiences with BB Creams that feel greasy and heavy)
Ditto! Affordable experimentation lets you stretch your wings and help you learn your own boundaries! If it wasn’t for affordable experimentation my blog wouldn’t even exist! It was really inexpensive brands like Wet N Wild and CoverGirl and L’Oreal, etc that got me into makeup because I wasn’t as afraid of finding out if I hated a style. It look me a long time to even like lipstick! haha 😛
